Okay, this will be more of a blog type post.

Here is what I see going on with the Health Care debate.
I believe most everyone in America would like to see some reform for Health care. But the fight is how we go about doing this.
This is not the urgent issue that some would like us to believe, has that not been the same mantra used for all agenda items in this new presidency? Let me state right now, I am just an Independent, so before anyone runs with calling me some right wing nut, read everything, and remember free speech.
Is it about time we get something done to start addressing the problems with our current system? Yes in my opinion. But, trying to solve all the problems in one sweeping plan is just plain wrong. We have not even fixed the problems we have with other Government run plans and Institutions (Public Schools).
Look at the abuse and waste of Welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security. I do not see why we have all (those who care to look) have not been marching in the streets over these issues. I for one have been working for 30 years. I have seen too many times people who are not working, have not a darn thing wrong with them, yet drive cars I could not afford, buy food I could not afford, have all types of toys, again I could not afford. I have on more than one occasion talked with these people; they all seemed to believe I was dumb for not gamming the system. Some offered me tips on how they do it, and tell me I just don’t know the right people, this is very sad. If you do not know the scope of current waste in these programs and Institutions read up on it, you will be surprised.
Look at our schools, do you not know that in my time alone I have seen the children take over the classes, intimidate the teachers, bully those who want to learn, they are more and more disrespectful to their own parents, never mind authority figures. Why do you think this is true, think about the changes in America and you should be able to figure that out, more on that in another post.
Back to waste and theft, that is what our government plans are, if a private business ran that way they would be bankrupt and gone. But look at it, our government is not looking to fix all those problems with the current government plans, they do not need to, they have taxes, unlike private companies the government has a all giving cash cow, all of us working Americans. Then also the National Debt, so what is another trillion dollars here and there.
I want reform to health coverage, but slow, well thought out, targeted at current Insurance company reform first. The numbers being tossed around about the uninsured are exaggerated. I worked for a time in an emergency room of a local hospital. I know for a fact that people were being treated that did not have Insurance all day, every day. I know people who just opt not to have Insurance even when it is offered to them from work.
Look, socialized medical coverage is not the dream come true plan. If you doubt that this is where the public option is heading for, you are sadly mistaken. This type of government plan fails; it has failed in local states that have tried it right here in America, why, they go broke! That is what happens; adding a whole new bunch of government workers to handle a plan like this is just ripe for the same old stuff. They get a government job, so they can sit on their butts and spend our money like it is nothing.
You need to see this if you’re not so blinded by politics that you just won’t.
Why will the public option be the start of a socialist plan that will just further bankrupt our country?
Well, look at it, with the public option why would companies (you know all those bad guys who give most of us a paycheck) continue to be burdened with managing a company plan, making their contributions to it to keep the costs better for the workers? They won’t, slowly but surely they will begin to drop all those problems for their end and tell the workers, hey, you can get cheep, free healthcare backed by the government now, look how it will save you and us!
Yes I want reform, I’ll say it again, but I want the right reform. You can not tell me that those current plans, tossed together in such a short time are going to be good. Let’s get real here, the president can still have Health Care reform, I think it would be better for him to say, Lets get this going, lets start with fixing a few issues at a time and work our way to a system we can be proud of. Not, let’s get it all done in one shot here (or try to).
If people do not start holding the government to the standards we all should be held to then we will be doomed. You want to be just another poor country? That may make some here happy, not me. I am far from rich, I would not even fall into any of the current tax levels our wonderful elected officials have set to steal from in the name of tax fairness they claim (you know, how dare you make so much, you need to give that to others who do not have as much, and no, you do not have a choice other than leave here). I find it very sad; the Robin Hood effect is what I call it.
What I want our so call leaders to do is fix the employment problems, the lost manufacturing problems, I like working for a living, it is not much at my current job, but I have the good feeling of earning it, something that seems to be getting lost in America. I want serious thought going into fixing those items listed above. How can I have any faith that the bridge they are trying to sell us now is not going to be just another government plan gone to hell?

Wow powerful statements here I have to agree to a point. I cannot see our government doing a good job with all this power they want. Look at Medicare,Medicade,Amtrack,U.S. Post office (we spend more but cannot compete with fedex), shrinking social security funds, and on and on. Get real people, this would be a huge mistake. |

Those idiots screamed and called President Bush (Bush Lied People Died - and other similar quotes), I was so sick of hearing that. But look today, OH the outrage that the same thing is said about President Obama. While I do not call what he is saying lies, it is obvious he is trying to lead the debate to his favor, leaving out important information. This plan is getting the debate it needs, this is a ma*sive government plan. The public option, if it makes it in the bill, IS a step toward government Health Care (socialized), and that will be another disaster for us all. WE NEED GOOD JOB’S! that should be the top concern, not these paybacks to his backers that started with the first stimulus plan he sent out right after taking office. If your so blinded by your socialist views I feel sorry for you. When you get what you want, America being just another country with no power, who will save people? Who will the people being k**led and r**ed by evil dictators come to? You do not care do you, as long as America is nothing, that is all you want. |
