P.R./IPL was discovered accidentally by NASA about 40 years ago. Astronauts who became injured while in space would not heal until they were back here on Earth. Scientists didn't know the reason until plants were placed aboard space craft with the intent to grow food during long distance space travel. These scientists determined that the red LED lights that were used to encourage the plants to grow were in fact healing the astronauts' wounds!
