Acne Treatments that Work

Two of the best-known treatments for acne include phototherapy and the Zen Med Derma Cleanse System.

Let's take a closer look at how both of these products treat acne.

Within the last year the FDA has approved a form of phototherapy (or acne light therapy) called ClearLight to help treat acne sufferers.

ClearLight is a particularly strong form of blue light that is administered to patients by way of fluorescent lighting or the use of special lasers.

Studies of this method have shown that when phototherapy is used twice a week, is able to reduce acne at the rate greater than 60 percent.

It is believed that the intensity of the blue light applied to the acne gets under the skin and works to kill the bacteria that cause acne.

Clinical trials have shown that the intensity of light must be in the area of 405- 425 nanometers and that after approximately a month of treatments most patients can expect to see a decrease of somewhere in the area of 60-70% of their acne flare ups.

The Zen Med Derma Cleanse System is acne treatment that comes in a three-step system, which includes capsules, gentle cleanser and gel.

It works to both rid patients of their current acne problems and prevent further ones.

What's so unique about this form of acne treatment is that it is made of all natural ingredients. The capsules are of a herbal quality and work to treat acne from where it originates, on the inside of the layers of skin.

This acne treatment has no known negative side effects.

As with a treatments, you need to speak with a medical doctor and get treatments with a doctors supervision.
